Hailing from Wuyi Mountain, Tie Lou Han / Iron Monk is the boldest of the four signature yan chas. This robust and complex oolong tea was roasted to perfection, creating a nutty aroma with rich mineral tones, rock rhyme and notes of honeysuckle. Its uniquely smooth and full-bodied flavor that is both brisk and tangy at first, followed by a mellow and citrus note and rounding with a sweet aftertaste. It will keep you yearning for more.

    (Using Gaiwan, Chinese teapot for shorter brews, repeated a few times)

    Tea / Water

    5 g per 100 ml of water

    0.25 oz per 5 fl oz of water

    Temperature: 100C / 212F

    Brew Time:

    Warm teapot and let it bloom well before first brew
    1st Brew: 45 seconds
    2nd Brew: 40 seconds
    Subsequent Brews: 60 seconds

  • Modern Style

    (Using a mug or a bigger teapot for longer brews, repeated once or twice)

    0.3 oz per 10 fl oz of water
