In the words of a Chinese philosopher, T’ien Yiheng,"Tea is drunk to forget the din of the world”.

It is the reviving brew that starts our day along with dimsum and a newspaper, and the comforting companion that brings us to a restful pause at day’s end. It is solitary and social, calming and restoring. Alone, a cup of tea steals time and wraps us in a reflective space. Shared with a friend, it perfumes the air with fragrant clouds of happiness.

Pekoe&Petals is here to help you distill the world of tea. For newcomers to the complex variety of types, tastes, and techniques, we will introduce you to teas that you will love and come back to time after time. For tea connoisseurs who are passionate about quality, we will bring you teas that surprise, delight and impress.


Our Founder

Cecilia grew up drinking tea but knew little about this beverage, like many others in Hong Kong. While other first-graders drank milk before going to school, Cecilia would have a cup of Hong Kong-styled milk tea which her mother made every morning. After dinner time, her dad would always make a pot of tea. It was like a ritual. All she knew, however, was that the tea was "blue tea", qing cha.

Her dad introduced to her some of the finer things in life, including tea. He instilled in her a sense of curiosity and a thirst for lifelong learning. This quest for knowledge led Cecilia to embark on a journey to study tea, gaining certification as a Professional Tea Taster, Tea Crafter and Tea Connoisseur.

Tea reflects what Cecilia loves -- an intersection of art and science. She founded Pekoe&Petals in 2022 to:

  • Elevate tea culture in Hong Kong and around the world through workshops, education and conversation;
  • Promote physical and mental well-being through tea
  • Curate exceptional teas for the discerning tea lovers.

Cecilia is a serial entrepreneur. Before founding Pekoe&Petals, she started an award-winning food tour company, Hong Kong Foodie Tours, and an e-commerce consulting firm working with top-tier tech companies such as Facebook and PlayStation. Prior to striking out on her own, Cecilia had a broad and diverse career, from marketing to management consulting, finance to business development, e-commerce and sales. She holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
